what is open water diver ? 

You want to discover the aquatic world and learn the basics of scuba diving? This is where it all begins... The Open Water Diver is the world's most popular diving course. Get your PADI here !

This course is accessible from 10 years and no previous experience in diving is necessary. You must be in good physical health and know how to swim.

The Open Water is divided into three parts:

  • Knowledge development with a theoretical part (5 sections) in half a day at the diving center or remote e-learning;

  • Learning basic diving techniques in a protected environment (swimming pool);

  • Exploration and discovery of the seabed with 4 dives in the natural environment (sea).


With your Open Water diver certification, you are self-sufficient up to 18 meters and you have the freedom to dive independently with a buddy anywhere in the world or at all PADI dive centers around the world.

For your Open Water course, we ask you for a 3 days availability. If you opt for the e-learning option for the theoretical part, we ask you to read the manual (sent online) before starting the practical part.

If you wish, from the 4th dive, you can start your Nitrox Course (Enriched Air Diver Course).

A 3 DAYS DIVING TRAINING

Day 1: Theory at the diving center and swimming pool

We will pick you up at your hotel between 7 am and 7:45 am depending on your accommodation to come to the diving center. After doing the registration papers, you will begin the theory that takes half a day. You will be under the supervision of our PADI instructor throughout the course After lunch at the center, you will do pool exercises with the diving equipment.

 

Day 2: Two dives at sea (Padang Bai or Sanur) + Theoretical exam

We are looking for your hotel between 7 am and 7:45 am depending on your accommodation to gather the divers of the day in the center. We go car and diving boat to the dive sites (Padang Bai or Sanur depending on the bookings). After a briefing, enjoy your first open water dive of the day! Going back to the surface, take a tea break and coffee before leaving for the second dive. You will be limited to 12 meters deep. Lunch at the restaurant around 12:30 and return to the center at the beginning of the afternoon for the theoretical exam before your return to the hotel.

 

Day 3: Two dives at sea (Amed or Tulamben) + End of training

We organize the transfer of your hotel to the dive center between 7:00 and 7:45. Then we go to the dive sites by air-conditioned minibus (Amed or Tulamben depending on the bookings). After a briefing on the beach, you go diving and explore the seabed. We have lunch together at the restaurant before making the second dive, limited to 18 meters deep. In the afternoon, return to the dive center in Sanur. If you have passed all the tests, congratulations, you will receive your PADI Open Water diver certification!

 

Remarks:

  • You have little time available? Choose the PADI Scuba Diver course to validate the first three theoretical sessions, the first three Open Water pool exercises and the first two dives in open water.
    If you have not been able to complete the Open Water course for any reason (health, illness, exam or non validated exercises ...), you can be Scuba Diver certified and continue your Open Water course afterwards.
    It is possible to do the theoretical part of the Open Water with online courses (E-learning) remotely. Thus, the on-site training will only last two and a half days to perform the exercises in the pool and the four dives at sea.
